Now for something completely different!

OMG WTF – It’s Olga [CLICK to enlarge]

My wife Lillian’s birthday falls around the same time as Christmas so it simultaneously makes buying a gift easy & difficult.
She loves photography – and images, but hates my large, heavy, fully loaded cameras – battery grips, batteries, L-series lenses, all of which add up to some kilos.

Fuji had just released the XE-1, nicknamed the “Sexy-One” in Japan – amazing resolution and speed in addition to droolworthy good looks.
So, that was her Birthday/Christmas gift.
She was thrilled to bits because it was just right for her small hands and was fast enough to react when she wanted to do street photography.

She decided, one delicious summer day in December, that we shall go to the Botanical Gardens – bright sunshine, Sydney-Blue skies, fluffy white clouds.
Actually, I get bored in gardens…so I sit on benches and people-watch while wifey was busily photographing flowers, trees, shrubs and all kinds of healthy, green, leafy, growing thingies.

Then, I see this lovely young woman dressed in white referring to a black book with a large red font which says “OMG WTF”
Hilarious – that should be a very interesting book – I’m curious now.
I saunter over – as one does….
She’s from Vladivostok and studying here – and convince her to stand still for a coupla shots and here we are.
Killed the boredom, made a picture.

By the way, if you really wanted to know, that book is a diary available locally in Sydney.

Share and Enjoy
